More about crisis centers in ohio
Crisis centers originally started to appear in Ohio after a string of SA’s in Ohio's most populated cities in the early 1970s. Many people came forward to report these crimes to the police, so many in fact that the police started asking volunteers from the community to assemble a hotline that those who have been assaulted can call and receive help. In the late 1980s, this volunteer group received government funding and created the original crisis center. This would spread throughout Ohio and branch out into crisis centers for cases of domestic violence, SA, and pregnancy. Pregnancy centers use little to no medical equipment but specialize in marketing themselves as healthcare centers. These clinics provide no real medical care as these are not qualified professionals. Often these places are paid for by religious organizations that pay for their message of pro-life to be spread through falsified medical practice. I encourage you to read further on this topic as well as the testimonials of women who have been victims of these scams.
